Position: Enterprise Monitoring Systems Engineer (OpenView)

Job Description:
A technical resource for the monitoring team who will contribute to the monitoring configuration and maintenance utilizing the HP suite of monitoring products such as HP Operations Manager (OpenView), BAC, SiteScope, BPM, and Reporter.
The resource will must be a self starter who will interact with different groups with minimum supervision. Lead monitoring projects from inception to completion following the Life Technologies monitoring standards. Document new monitoring configurations and instructions for tier 1 support in order to resolve an issue.
Assist with the parallel migration of HP Operations for Windows from 7.5 to 8.0.
Job Skills/Experience
- Strong leadership and communication skills
- Maintain several complex projects simultaneously
- Ability to multi-task and prioritize workload
- 5+ years of professional experience required in an IT environment
Must have experience working with the following products:
- HP Operations Manager (OpenView)
- Business Availability Center (BAC)
- Business Process Monitor
- Scripting with Virtual User Generator (VuGEN)
- SiteScope
Ideally have experience working with the following products:
- BAC & SiteScope SLA
- Network Node Manager (NNMi)
- HP SIM
- HP Reporter
- HP OpenView Performance Manager (OVPM)
Job Knowledge
· Project management
· Web-based applications
· Multiple operating systems (Windows, Linux, HP-UX)
· ERP environments (Oracle Enterprise1, SAP)
· eCommerce applications (DAY, FAST, Comergent)
· Working knowledge of common protocols (DNS, LDAP, DHCP, TCP/IP, NFS, SMTP, SNMP etc)
· High availability, clustering, load balancing
· Application architectures (3 tier, web, application, database)
· Network topologies, LAN, WAN, routers switches, etc.
· Shell & batch file scripting
