"BJM" JOB: Designer III - Structural Steel (PERM) - Houston, TX

Leveraging its global manufacturing, engineering and sales and service network, Cameron works with drilling contractors, oil & gas producers, pipeline operators, refiners and other process owners to control, direct, adjust, process, measure and compress pressures and flows.

JOB DESCRIPTION:
Detailing pressure vessels and / or structural steel in accordance with customer specifications with little supervision while complying with project schedule; address project inconsistencies with project team to determine best solutions and responsibility of keeping the drafting project file in order with all back up documentations.

PRIMARY DUTIES:
1. Detailing Pressure Vessels using calculations and layout sketch.
2. Detailing Structural Steel based on assembly model and Calculations.
3. Communicating with the fabrication shop on fabrication issues.
4. Creating layouts for design engineering.
5. Checking vessels, structural steel, or both.
6. Training drafters I, II, III and designer I.
7. Leading a small single package project.
8. Participate in project meetings.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
1. High School Graduate or associates degree with 15-20 years experience.
2. Understands ASME, AISC and ANSI codes

REQUIRED SKILLS:
1. Ability to develop skills to lead large complex packages and multi packages.
2. Ability to train drafter I, II, III and designer I.
3. Ability to design structural layouts, or vessel internals or PDMS Piping Design/Draft.
4. Ability to check vessels, structural details, piping spools and assemblies.
5. Capable of utilizing one or more drafting programs such as PDMS, AutoCAD, Inventor.

PEOPLE INTERFACE:
1. Works directly with lead designer and engineering team members in project execution to ensure work is carried out within specifications.
2. Works closely with drafting team members to ensure on time delivery.
3. Attends project team meetings with all engineering disciplines.
4. Supports construction managers at shop location along with fabrication leads with any issues.
